A single-day commercial vehicle inspection and enforcement effort resulted in dozens of out-of-service orders and more than a hundred citations, according to Canadian police.
On February 25, 2026, police conducted a commercial vehicle inspection operation on Marine Way, near Roseberry Avenue, in South Burnaby, B.C.
The one-day operation yielded the following results:
B.C. RCMP noted some of the outstanding commercial vehicle violations uncovered by inspectors:

“Unbelievably, all these violations [listed above], and more, were noted on one dump truck pulling a flat deck trailer with a bobcat. The driver was issued 6 violation tickets totalling $1,215 in fines. The truck and trailer license plates were seized, and both vehicles were towed and ordered to immediately be taken to a designated inspection facility,” RCMP said.

“There are many professional drivers and companies that follow road safety laws. This is clearly not one of them,” said Cst. Kevin Connolly, Burnaby RCMP’s Designated Commercial Vehicle Inspector. “This is not an accurate representation of every commercial vehicle on our roadways, it is, however, a good example of why we do these inspections.”
