Second West Michigan I-196 pile-up involving semi trucks in just over a week

A pile up crash involving 17 vehicles, including five semi trucks, shut down Interstate 196 in West Michigan on Tuesday. 

The accident happened on the morning of January 27th on southbound I-196 near South Haven, Michigan. 

According to WILX 10, five semi trucks and one unoccupied trooper vehicle were involved in the pile up crash. A total of 17 vehicles are believed to have been involved. Whiteout conditions were reported near the area around the time of the crash. No serious injuries were reported. 

The 17 vehicle pile up is the second in West Michigan in just over a week after a 100 vehicle pile up on I-196 about 30 miles up the road. No one was seriously injured in that crash.
