Security guard shot at Arizona Love’s during dispute with truck driver over parking, police say

Police say that a security guard was shot during a dispute over parking at a truck stop in Tolleson, Arizona, last night.

The Tolleson Police Department responded to a Love’s location off I-10 in Tolleson at around 11 p.m. on February 23.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a security guard who had been shot in the leg.

Local outlet AZ Family reports that truck driver Donald Hayes, 63, argued with the security guard over incorrect parking, resulting in the guard using pepper spray on Hayes.

Hayes allegedly responded by shooting the security guard.

According to reports, the security guard also fired on Hayes after he was shot, but the gunfire only struck the truck, not Hayes.

Police said that Hayes left the truck stop but was later located and arrested on aggravated assault charges.

The security guard was hospitalized with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
