Semi truck blown over onto sheriff’s deputy patrol vehicle on Montana interstate

A sheriff’s deputy assisting one blown over semi truck was inside of his patrol vehicle when a second semi truck was blown over on top of it in Park County, Montana, on Thursday.

On March 12, 2026, the Park County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) and Park County Rural Fire responded to westbound I-90 at mile marker 350 for a report of a semi truck that had been blown over.

While at the scene, a second semi truck blew over on top of the PCSO deputy’s vehicle.

The deputy was inside the patrol vehicle when it was struck by the truck.

The deputy sustained minor injuries and will be checked out at a nearby hospital.

“EVERYONE IS OK,” PCSO said.

Around 1:30 p.m. PCSO said that I-90 would be shut down at Big Timber to allow crews to clear the crashed vehicles and to allow the wind gusts to die down.
