Semi truck driver pulled over speeding arrested for drugs, weapon, fake urine, and DUI, Indiana troopers say
A truck driver is facing several charges after a traffic stop that was initiated for speeding, according to the Indiana State Police (ISP).
Shortly after 7 p.m. on March 6, 2026, a semi truck was observed exceeding the posted speed limit on I-70 at mile marker 7.
ISP Trooper William Clark used lidar to determine that the truck was traveling at speeds of 80 m.p.h. in a 60 m.p.h. zone.
Trooper Clark initiated a traffic stop, and “suspicious activity was immediately detected,” according to ISP Public Information Officer Matt Ames.
A West Terre Haute Police canine unit was brought to the scene for a free air sniff.
A subsequent search of the semi truck uncovered marijuana, synthetic urine, and a loaded handgun.
Troopers say that truck driver Alex Brown of Killeen, Texas, showed signs of impairment but refused to take a field sobriety test or a certified chemical test.
Brown was arrested and booked into the Vigo County Jail on the following charges:
- Weapon in Possession of a Violent Felon, Felony 4
- Possession of Synthetic Urine, Class B Misdemeanor
- Possession of marijuana, Class B Misdemeanor
- Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, Class C misdemeanor
