The California Highway Patrol (CHP) took major enforcement action after finding tire and licensing violations during a traffic stop on a speeding semi truck in the Modesto area.
A CHP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer initiated a traffic stop on a semi truck for speeding, according to a June 18 post from CHP’s Modesto Division.
The truck was inspected as part of the traffic stop, leading the officer to discover that “the truck was operating with a flat tire, creating a serious safety hazard for everyone on the roadway.”

CHP also learned that the truck driver did not possess a commercial driver’s license (CDL).
Because of the violations, the truck was ordered out-of-service and impounded.
“Commercial vehicle regulations exist for a reason. Properly maintained equipment and qualified drivers help keep California’s highways safe for everyone. Before hitting the road, make sure your vehicle is roadworthy and that you have the proper license for the vehicle you’re operating. Safety is everyone’s responsibility. Slow down, inspect your equipment, and arrive safely,” CHP said.
