A driver and company were charged for a serious load securement failure spotted by police on an Ontario roadway.
On June 5, 2026, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a pickup hauling a skid steer on a trailer in Little Current.
Police said that the skid steer was being transported “with no visible straps.”
A CVSA Level I Inspection was conducted on the vehicle, which uncovered multiple safety issues including the improper load securement, “overweight concerns,” and licensing issues.
Police issued charges to the driver, a 53-year-old from Mindemoya, as well as to the Mindemoya-based company.
“An insecure and overweight load puts everyone on the road at risk. The OPP wants to remind all commercial motor vehicle operators and companies that proper load securement and compliance with safety regulations are critical to ensuring safe roadways in Ontario,” officials said.
