Speeding dump truck on restricted route in California found to be ‘overweight, unregistered, uninsured’

California troopers found a laundry list of violations after pulling over a dump truck for speeding on a weight-restricted roadway in Oakland.

CHP’s Golden Gate Division said that a commercial vehicle was recently stopped for speeding on a stretch of I-580 in Oakland.

Troopers noted that the stretch of I-580 between Grand Avenue in Oakland and Foothill Boulevard in San Leandro is restricted for trucks over 9,000 pounds.

An inspection revealed that the truck was “overweight, unregistered, uninsured, and operating without proper authority,” CHP said.

“These violations create a safety risk for everyone on the roadway. We remind all commercial operators: know your route, know the requirements, and stay compliant!” state police advised.
