Standstill snowstorm traffic on Interstate 94 forced drivers to park for five hours on Sunday.
The backups occurred on March 15th, in Jackson County, Wisconsin on Interstate 94.
According to WEAU13, truck driver Joe Schultz was on I-94 when he encountered the traffic backup. He says he was stuck in the standstill traffic but didn’t think much of it until he saw the National Guard walking through the stopped vehicles.
“After I saw the lineup and once the National Guard came walking through, I realized I’m going to be sitting for a while,” Schultz said. “Thank goodness I’m in a semi and I’ve got my TV. Plus, I’ve got my partner with me, my dog.”
The National Guard troops distributed food and water to drivers stopped in the standstill snowstorm traffic and traffic was eventually escorted using snowmobiles.
Schultz says that this was the third time he’s been stuck in standstill traffic, and that the first two times both happened in California.
