Steer tire blowout crash in Arizona reveals no CDL, medical certificate, registration, or operating authority

Arizona troopers found numerous violations while responding to a semi truck that crashed after a steer tire blowout.

On July 25, 2026, a non-injury semi truck crash was reported on US-70 in Graham, Arizona.

The truck driver told responding officers that the semi truck crashed after a steer tire blowout.

A post-crash investigation revealed that “the driver did not have a valid CDL, medical certificate, or vehicle registration, and that the company had no operating authority.”

“Numerous citations” and DVER violations, and an out-of-service order were issued to the driver, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) Highway Patrol.

“Proper licensing, valid registration, and routine vehicle maintenance aren’t optional – they’re what keep everyone on the road safe. A tire blowout can happen to anyone, but driving without a CDL, medical certification, or registration puts every motorist at risk. Before you get behind the wheel, make sure you and your vehicle are in compliance,” officials said.
