Tennessee troopers provide a peek at ‘multiple critical safety violations’ discovered during commercial vehicle inspection

The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) recently issued an out-of-service order after a commercial vehicle inspection uncovered several serious safety violations.

On March 23, 2026, THP shared results from a recent Level I inspection performed by a Motor Carrier Plus East Region Trooper.

During the inspection, the trooper found the following defects:

THP said that the trailer was placed out-of-service due to the severity of the equipment defects and the risks that the vehicle posed to the motoring public.
