Tennessee troopers take commercial vehicle out-of-service after finding safety violations and yellow strap fix

The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) sidelined a commercial vehicle after finding serious safety violations on the trailer.

On March 5, 2026, THP highlighted a recent commercial vehicle inspection that took place at the Haywood Westbound Scales.

The trooper conducting the inspection discovered a broken air ride suspension control box and deflated air bags on the trailer.

Images shared by THP show an attempted repair using a bright yellow nylon strap.

Troopers said that the commercial vehicle was placed out-of-service until repairs were completed.

“Safety remains our top priority as we work to keep our roadways safe for everyone,” THP said.
