Multiple Texas law enforcement agencies partnered to apprehend a suspect accused of stealing hundreds of gallons of diesel fuel from local businesses in Jack County
The Jack County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) recently partnered with the Jacksboro Police Department (JPD) to investigate the theft of approximately 900 gallons of diesel fuel from a local business and two independent truck stops.
After investigators identified a suspect, a warrant was obtained to permit placing a tracking device on the suspect’s vehicle.
“Investigators with the Jack County Sheriff’s Office and Jacksboro Police Department traveled to Fort Worth as part of a joint operation to locate the vehicle and install the tracker. Before that could occur, Fort Worth Police officers located the suspect with another load of diesel fuel and placed him under arrest,” JCSO said.
Investigators from JCSO and JPD obtained a confession from the suspect for the diesel thefts in Jack County.
Police said that additional information would be released about the suspect when “the appropriate warrant has been received and served.”
“This is what happens when law enforcement agencies work together and assist one another; the community wins, and the bad guys go to jail,” JCSO said.
