Texas sheriff seizes $4 million in cocaine, $7K in cash, and tractor trailer during ‘targeted’ operation

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPCSO) seized a large amount of cocaine as well as U.S. currency and a tractor trailer as part of an ongoing investigation.

On July 29, 2026, EPCSO conducted a “targeted interdiction operation” involving a commercial tractor trailer in El Paso County, Texas, as part of an investigation into a drug trafficking operation.

As part of the operation, officers seized 119.8 kilograms of cocaine, $7,000 in U.S. currency, and a tractor trailer suspected to have been used by a criminal drug trafficking enterprise.

EPCSO said that the estimated street value of the seized cocaine is $4 million.

“This significant seizure disrupted the movement of a large quantity of illegal narcotics and underscores the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office’s commitment to aggressively targeting drug trafficking organizations operating in and through our region. Our investigators remain focused on identifying, investigating, and dismantling criminal networks that threaten the safety of our community,” said El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte.

The investigation is ongoing. Police opted not to release any additional information, including arrests or charges, to protect the integrity of the active investigation.
