Thirteen arrested for immigration violations during detail targeting commercial trucks on I-90 in Montana

U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) partnered with Montana law enforcement agencies for a commercial vehicle inspection detail that resulted in the apprehension of more than a dozen people who were present in the U.S. illegally.

The USBP Havre Sector detailed an operation that took place April 27 — 30, 2026, along the I-90 corridor in Billings, Montana.

USBP officers were joined by the Montana Highway Patrol and Montana Motor Carrier Services for the inspection and enforcement campaign.

Officers inspected more than 300 commercial vehicles during the four-day effort.

“This vital effort led to the apprehension of 13 illegal aliens. Of those apprehended, 12 were removed, and one case is proceeding under 8 USC 1326 prosecution,” USBP said.

Reentry after deportation is the crime covered by the 8 USC 1326 statute.

“We’re proud to support our local law enforcement and assist the efforts to uphold public safety,” the Montana Highway Patrol said.
