The Kern County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) arrested three people in connection with a large-scale cargo theft involving LEGO toys.
On April 8, 2026, deputies with KCSO responded to the 400 block of Silver Queen Road in Kern County, California, for reports of suspicious vehicles in the area.
The deputies spotted two box trucks fleeing the area and performed a traffic stop on both vehicles.

When the box trucks were searched, KCSO discovered “a large amount” of LEGO products.
Deputies also discovered two semi trailers in the area as the investigation continued.

“[After] a thorough investigation, deputies discovered the trailers were stolen while in transit from Fort Worth, Texas, to Moreno Valley, California. The loss was reported to be approximately $1,000,000 worth of LEGO products,” KCSO said.
Deputies arrested Jose Lopez, 37, of San Bernardino, Ruben Lopez Flores, 25, of Los Angeles, and Freddy Hernandez Polinar, 35, of Chino on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, cargo theft, and conspiracy.
