Three people were arrested in Florida on Thursday morning after a roadside road rage fight.
The fight broke out on the morning of Thursday, April 2nd on Interstate 4 in Polk City, Florida.
According to 10 Tampa Bay, the incident started when truck driver Marcos Ramos Santa attempted to change lanes and move into a lane of traffic “where [semi] trucks are not supposed to drive in.” Tow truck driver Jeffrey Leedle then called 911 to report what he considered reckless driving, and got in front of the semi truck to slow it down “so the police could get them.”
Santa and his passenger, Fernandez Rivero, told police that Leedle kept cutting them off and “slamming” on his brakes in front of the semi truck. Leedle also told police that Santa “started cursing” and “maliciously threw debris to his vehicle,” which included a full cup of liquid.
Eventually, the two vehicles pulled over onto the side of the highway and Santa and Leedle began to fight. At one point, Santa and Rivero teamed up against Leedle to attack him. Their attacks included hair pulling and scratching of the body and groin area.
Medical personnel later “confirmed there were scratches” on Leedle’s groin area. Santa and Rivero declined to be checked out.
Leedle provided footage of the roadside road rage fight to police, which ended in the arrest of all three men. All were taken to the Polk County Jail. Santa has been charged with battery, reckless driving, and throwing a deadly missile into a vehicle. Rivero was charged with Battery, and Leedle was charged with battery and reckless driving.
