Trimac acquires California bulk food transporter

This week, Trimac Transportation announced the acquisition of a major food-grade bulk logistics provider headquartered in Ripon, California.

On August 4, Calgary-headquartered Trimac announced the acquisition of “one of California’s largest multi-faceted food-grade bulk logistics providers,” California Freight, for an undisclosed amount.

California Freight will continue to operate under its own name under the umbrella of Trimac’s family of companies.

As part of the acquisition, Trimac executive Jesse Hanson will become President of California Freight and work alongside existing leadership.

California Freight was founded in 1989 as a regional brokerage and has grown to become a transportation and logistics company operating eight trucking terminals, a warehousing terminal, and brokerage facility across California and Nevada. The company operates a large fleet of trucks and tankers serving California’s daily industry as well as the wine, food and beverage, and agricultural sectors.
