Troopers discover 100 pounds of meth during roadside DOT inspection

Indiana State Police troopers discovered 100 pounds of meth during a roadside DOT inspection over the weekend.

The discovery was made on Saturday, March 21st at around 4:20 p.m. on Interstate 70 near Cloverdale, Indiana.

According to Fox59, police initially pulled over the commercial vehicle for a roadside DOT inspection to ensure compliance. During that inspection, troopers noticed “criminal indicators” as they spoke with the driver. Those indicators led to a probable cause search of the truck.

Officers then conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered 100 pounds of methamphetamines inside of the trailer. The contraband has an estimated street value of about half a million dollars.

The truck driver, 33-year-old Kemar Brown of San Bernardino, California, was arrested and taken to the Putnam County Jail. He is facing charges for possessing and dealing methamphetamine.
