Troopers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) called out a truck driver who was recently encountered transporting a projecting load that posed a “serious risk.”
On January 30, 2026, CHP’s Visalia Division shared photos of a truck with a problematic projecting load.
“This big rig is a reminder of why properly securing and marking projecting loads is critical. Loads extending beyond a vehicle can pose a danger to everyone on the roadway if not handled correctly,” state police said.

CHP advised that truckers secure all cargo, use required flags or lighting, and ensure loads meet legal limits before hitting the road.
“The California Highway Patrol is committed to keeping our roadways safe for all. If you see an unsafe load, give yourself space and report it,” troopers said.
