A truck driver was arrested this week after striking an unoccupied Massachusetts trooper’s police cruiser.
The arrest occurred on August 3, 2026, at the Massachusetts State Police (MSP) Sturbridge barracks.
A tractor trailer struck an unoccupied parked police cruiser outside of the barracks. The impact of the crash pushed the police vehicle onto curb and into pole.
“The tractor trailer then continued over nearby shrubs before circling behind the barracks in an apparent attempt to leave the scene. Troopers stopped the vehicle moments later,” MSP said.

No one was injured.

While interacting with the truck driver, troopers noted that he was “unsteady on his feet, had glassy eyes, and detected an odor of alcohol on his breath.”
