Truck driver arrested for drunk driving after rolling tractor trailer loaded with paint, Missouri troopers say

The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) arrested a commercial truck driver after a rollover crash on I-70 on Tuesday.

Shortly after midnight on September 1, 2026, MSHP responded to eastbound I-70 in Montgomery County for a reported commercial vehicle crash.

When troopers arrived on scene, they encountered a tractor trailer loaded with 42,000 pounds of paint that rolled over at mile marker 166.

No injuries were reported.

Lonnie Britton, 46, of Middleton, Delaware, was arrested and booked into the Montgomery County Jail on charges of Driving While Intoxicated – Commercial Motor Vehicle Above A 0.04% and Careless And Imprudent Driving Involving A Crash.

The crash left paint spilled in the passing lane of I-70, resulting in hours of cleanup by Missouri Department of Transportation crews.
