A truck driver ran into trouble with police in Grimsby, Ontario, on Tuesday for driving unsafe equipment.
Shortly after 3:00 a.m. on January 20, 2026, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Burlington received a complaint about a bobtail truck “that was missing some tires” driving on the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) Toronto-bound from Ontario Street in St. Catharines.

“Officers were able to see (and hear) the truck approaching and stopped it near Casablanca Blvd. in Grimsby,” OPP said. “The driver was completing his daily inspection report as the officer approached to speak with him.”
OPP said that the 36 year old truck driver was charged with the following:
- Operate Unsafe Vehicle – Commercial Motor Vehicle
- Drive Commercial Motor Vehicle with a Major Defect in it
- Fail to Ensure Daily Inspection Report is Accurately Completed
