The Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) Highway Patrol found multiple commercial vehicle violations on an oversized load traveling on I-10.
On May 3, 2026, an Arizona trooper spotted a truck hauling an oversized load “traveling from California to Texas without permits during rush hour on I-10.”
After taking a closer look, the trooper discovered that the “CMV had no registrations for the truck or trailer, a bald tire, and no brake lights.”

Additionally, AZDPS said that the truck driver was on his cellphone and not wearing a seatbelt.
The truck driver was cited and placed out-of-service, troopers said.
“This incident highlights the importance of complying with commercial vehicle safety regulations. Operating an oversize load without required permits, proper registration, functioning equipment, or adherence to traffic laws puts the driver and the traveling public at risk. Drivers should ensure their vehicles are properly maintained, all permits and registrations are current, and distractions such as cell phone use are avoided. Safe operations help prevent crashes, reduce traffic disruptions, and keep everyone on the road safer,” said AZDPS Highway Patrol.
