An Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) trooper recently arrested a truck driver on multiple charges after finding a large amount of marijuana on his commercial vehicle.
On March 31, 2026, an ALEA Motor Carrier Safety Unit (MCSU) trooper conducted a commercial vehicle inspection on a truck on I-20 near mile marker 143 in St. Clair County.
The driver of the truck was identified as Dajun Sun, 57, of Oregon City, Oregon.
During the inspection, the Sun presented the trooper with an invalid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), according to ALEA. Further investigation revealed that Sun was present in the U.S. illegally, officials said.
The inspection also uncovered 23 boxes that contained approximately 185 pounds of marijuana.
Sun was arrested on charges of Drug Trafficking and Operating a CMV without a CDL.
Sun was booked into the St. Clair County Jail with a $1,500,000 bond.
The incident remains under investigation.
