An overturned semi truck on the 10 Freeway resulted in a nine hour cleanup of syrup spilled in the accident.
The accident happened at about 11:20 a.m. in Fontana, California on Monday, March 16th on the 10 Freeway on ramp at Citrus Avenue.
According to ABC7, the semi truck overturned in the westbound lanes of the 10 Freeway leading to a load of spilled syrup all over the roadway.
Initially, crews attempted to sop up the syrup using an absorbent material, but that strategy did not work. Crews then brought in a water truck and hosed down the puddle of syrup before vacuuming it up.
The cleanup caused a closure of the westbound lanes of the 10 Freeway for nearly nine hours, causing extensive backups. All lanes were reopened at about 8 p.m. It is unclear what caused the semi truck to overturn.
