Trucker attempted to evade, but nude pedestrian still fatally struck by semi truck, Nashville cops say

Police confirmed the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a semi truck on a Nashville roadway early Monday morning.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD) reported that the incident occurred at 1:45 a.m. on May 18, 2026, at Harding Place and Donelson Pike in Nashville, Tennessee.

Police said that a “pedestrian, who was not wearing any clothing and acting erratically, was standing in the middle of the intersection when the driver of a tractor trailer attempted to avoid hitting him.”

The pedestrian then climbed up onto the truck and fell back onto the road, where he was struck by the rear of the trailer.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities are working to identify him by his fingerprints.

The truck driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.

“There was no evidence of impairment on the part of the driver,” MNPD said.
