Trucker stopped at two extra gas stations on his route to triple check his $50k winning lottery ticket

A truck driver says he made two extra stops at gas stations along his route to triple check his ticket after revealing a $50,000 lottery win.

Truck driver Jason Nixon says that he was on his regular route in Severna Park, Maryland last month when he stopped at a 7-Eleven with a $10 bill.

“I was in the mood for a Lottery ticket and had a $10 bill set aside,” Nixon said, explaining that the first ticket he noticed was the $10 FAST PLAY Big Win game “So, that was the one.”

Nixon soon scratched the ticket to reveal that he had won $50,000. “It was crazy. I went over it a bunch of times and it was a $50,000 match every time,” he said.

Nixon says that he was in such shock that he almost didn’t believe it, and made sure to double and triple check the ticket on his way to make a delivery.

“I stopped at two other Lottery stores on the way to my next stop to scan the ticket again.”

When the ticket came back winning each time, “I looked at myself in the rearview mirror. Even with that doubt in my mind, I couldn’t get the smile off my face,” Nixon said to Maryland Lottery.
