A trucking company owner has pleaded guilty to wire fraud after being arrested for a scheme to defraud Amazon Logistics of more than $3.5 million.
25-year-old Ameer Nasir, owner of Pak Express Transport LLC, pleaded guilty to wire fraud on Friday, March 6th before U.S. District Judge Kari A. Dooley in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
According to the United States Attorney’s Office, Nasir registered 23 trucking companies with Amazon Logistics, including his legitimate company. 22 of those companies he registered were created under fake names, or the fraudulent use of another trucking company’s name.
Between December 2019 and February 2021, Nasir used these fake trucking company accounts to sign up for 1,000s of Amazon Logistics loads. Nasir also manipulated the information in Amazon’s system to fake that he had moved the cargo, and submitted fraudulent invoices to Amazon.
Through this scheme, Nasir defrauded Amazon of more than $3.5 million. He was arrested for the fraud on May 8th, 2025. His guilty plea to wire fraud carries a maximum prison time of 20 years. He has also agreed to pay restitution worth $3,547,090.93.
Nasir has been released on $300,000 bond pending his sentencing. His sentencing is scheduled for May 29th.
