Two loads lost in bridge strikes 10 miles apart along I-10 in southeast Texas

Multiple lanes were shut down along Interstate 10 in Southeast Texas on Wednesday after two semi trucks struck overpasses 10 miles apart.

The incidents happened on August 25th along I-10 in and around Beaumont, Texas.

According to 12 News Now, a semi truck hauling a large metal frame structure along westbound I-10 when it struck a low overpass at Texas Highway 365, dislodging the load from the trailer. The incident forced the closure of the overpass and all westbound lanes.

Approximately 11 miles away on I-10 west/southbound at Cardinal Drive, another semi truck hit an overpass and lost its load, this time some sort of construction equipment. The equipment fell into the lane of travel and completely blocked the roadway and forcing lane closures.

Both areas experienced traffic delays. TxDOT was evaluating the condition of both overpasses. No further information, such as citations issued, has been released.
