VIDEO: Ohio trooper responding to car spinning out nearly struck by semi truck on the shoulder

The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) shared dash cam video of a trooper’s close call with a semi truck on the shoulder of the roadway.

The video was captured on February 6, 2026, on I‑76 in Medina County, Ohio.

Troopers say that a motorist lost control and went off the left side of the interstate, striking a cable barrier.

When an OSHP sergeant from the Ashland Post arrived on scene with emergency lights activated to assist the motorist, “a semi truck approaching from behind nearly struck his cruiser.”

“This video is a reminder to slow down, increase following distance and move over for emergency vehicles during winter weather,” said OSHP.
