VIDEO: Pickup clips CMV in failed pass attempt that sends it spinning

A pickup truck was filmed during a very poor pass attempt on a dark highway that resulted in a minor crash with a semi and a major spin out. 

The video was filmed at 6:30 a.m. on Highway 17 near Bruce Mines in Ontario, Canada on Wednesday, February 18th. 

According to CTV News, the pickup truck driver clipped the front of the semi truck when it tried to pass the rig on a dark, two lane highway. 

“The pickup then spun out of control, overturned and came to rest on its roof in the northbound ditch,” the OPP said in a news release.

The 67-year-old motorist sustained non life threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. He was charged with Unsafe Move-Lane or Shoulder under the Highway Traffic Act.
