Video shows firefighters helping semi truck driver with bad bee situation at Illinois Flying J

Illinois firefighters came to the rescue of a truck driver who was blocked from entering his semi by a swarm of bees.

On May 8, 2026, the LaSalle Fire Department (LSFD) shared video of an unusual callout to a Flying J truck stop located in LaSalle, Illinois.

Firefighters said that the truck driver was unable to enter the cab because bees had swarmed the vehicle.

“With a little creative application of water, the driver was able to enter his truck and continue his journey. All in a day’s work for Black shift and LaSalle Fire,” LSFD said.
