Video shows Kansas trooper knocking semi truck out-of-service after spotting ‘significant wobble’ on rear axle

A Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) trooper took a commercial vehicle out of service for a major wheel equipment violation.

In a video shared on August 25, 2026, a KHP Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program Unit lieutenant initiates a traffic stop after spotting a semi truck operating on a Kansas roadway with “a significant wobble on the rear axle, outside, dual tire of a semi-trailer.”

A traffic stop was initiated. After taking a closer look, the lieutenant observed that 8 of the 10 wheel fastener studs had been sheared off.

“Had this driver continued on his trip, this could have been very dangerous, for himself and those around,” KHP said.
