The Wisconsin State Patrol (WSP) took enforcement action against a truck driver caught traveling nearly 20 m.p.h. over the speed limit in a construction area.
On June 16, Wisconsin troopers took to social media to make an example of a truck driver recently caught speeding in a work zone.
WSP said that a driver operating a semi truck was clocked at 79 m.p.h. in a 60 m.p.h work zone.
The truck driver was pulled over for a traffic stop and cited for the 19 m.p.h. speed violation, troopers said.
“Speeding is a main cause of work zone injuries and fatal crashes. Slow down, highway workers depend on you to do your part so they can get home safe at the end of their day, just like you,” said state police.
Fines for speeding are doubled in work zones in the state of Wisconsin.
