‘High Visibility Enforcement’ patrol to take place statewide in Washington

The Washington State Patrol (WSP) and other law enforcement agencies will be conducting a traffic enforcement campaign called  “Arrive Alive.”

The “Arrive Alive” traffic blitz will take place Friday, May 5, statewide in Washington.

During the 24 hour effort, WSP and partner law enforcement agencies will be on the look out for dangerous driving behaviors, including impaired driving, speeding, and distracted driving.

WSP says that the purpose of the enforcement effort is to reduce serious injury and fatality collisions, as well as deter and interdict crime.

“WSP troopers investigated more than 10,200 collisions across the state in the first four months of 2023. Of those collisions, 177 involved serious injuries and 64 resulted in fatalities. WSP troopers investigated 10,579 collisions in the first four months of 2022, 187 of which involved serious injuries and 95 in fatalities,” WSP said in a news release.
