Man run over by semi truck in busy grocery store parking lot

A man is dead after being run over by a semi truck outside of a grocery store on Wednesday morning. 

The incident occurred on July 26th in Buckeye, Arizona at around 9:30 a.m. at the Fry’s grocery store near 196th Avenue and Indian School Road.

According to AZ Family news, 72-year-old James Runge wss hit by the day cab semi truck in the parking lot right near the entrance of the store. Witnesses were attempting to help Runge when officers arrived at the scene. 

Emergency crews performed CPR and transported Runge to the hospital, but he later died of his injuries. 

The truck driver stayed at the scene, and police say impairment is not believed to be a factor. No further information on the accident has been released.
