Suspect killed after colliding with semi trailer following multi-county police chase

Florida police say that a carjacking suspect died on Tuesday following a high speed multi-county police chase.

Police say that a carjacking occurred shortly after 11 a.m. near Lake Forest in Duval County, Florida.

Multiple law enforcement agencies pursued the suspect along I-95 southbound through St. Johns County and into Flagler County. Once the pursuit entered Flager County, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) joined.

The high speed chase ended when the suspect “crashed into the back of a commercial motor vehicle and its trailer” on I-95, according to FHP

The suspect did not survive the crash.

The truck driver was not seriously hurt, according to First Coast News.

The incident is under investigation.
