Trucker killed crossing street to check on motorist who pulled in front of his truck in Georgia on Tuesday.
The initial accident occurred on November 14th just after 5:30 p.m. at Commerce Road and Pinebluff Road in Athens, Georgia.
According to WSBTV, a motorist was at a stop sign on Pinebluff Road when she pulled out in front of an oncoming semi truck traveling north on Commerce Road, causing a collision.
Trucker Quentin Williams was not hurt in the collision and stopped his truck in the roadway before exiting the cab and walking to a nearby Shell Gas station, along with his co-driver Robert White, for safety reasons. The two men then decided to check on the motorist involved in the wreck, and started walking over to the car. As the two men crossed Commerce Road, an SUV driven by John Trim hit both Wiliams and White.
Williams, White, and the motorist in the initial wreck, Jasmine Littlejohn, were all transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. White was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, but Williams died at the hospital. Littlejohn is currently in critical condition, and Littlejohn’s passenger was treated for minor injuries. It is unclear if Trim was hurt in the wreck that killed Williams.
