The construction of a One9 truck stop is underway in Tucumcari this month.
The new facility is currently being built at 3022 S. First St., on South First Street and Interstate 40 in Tucumcari, New Mexico, and already has the fuel canopy installed as of Wednesday, June 12th.
The construction on the site began in early April, and is expected to be completed in early September. The truck stop will feature six fuel pumps for gas and eight for diesel. The convenience store will consist of a hot food bar, four showers, and a laundry facility.
Quay County Sun reports that the One9 is intended to relieve congestion at the nearby Pilot Flying J Travel Center on South Mountain Road. One9 is a smaller fleet network debuted by Pilot Flying J in 2019 and is aimed at helping smaller trucking companies and owner operators run their businesses more efficiently.
The nearby Pilot has reportedly “exceeded expectations,” and will be “a good thing for the general area,” said Ian Terry, construction superintendent at the site.
