A Texas task force recently seized a large amount of cash that officers found hidden on a semi truck during a traffic stop.
The traffic stop occurred on June 6, 2024, on Highway 77 in Kingsville, Texas.
Agents with the Kleberg County Attorney’s Specialized Crimes and Narcotics Task Force stopped a tractor trailer along the highway.
While speaking with the truck driver “agents believed the driver might be involved in some type of criminal activity.”
Agents conducted a search of the semi truck and located “sixteen bundles of US currency hidden within the tractor and trailer.”
“The US currency was discovered to be the proceeds of narcotics trafficking,” the task force said.
The total amount of cash seized was $456,935.
US Border Patrol SIU RGV Sector assisted the task force in their investigation.
