Chinese company to build electric semi trucks at Georgia plant

Published:

A Chinese electric truck manufacturer is reportedly planning to build a plant in Georgia to assemble zero-emissions semi trucks.

Reuters reports that Windrose Technology is building an assembly plant in Georgia in order to deliver the company’s electric semi trucks to U.S. customers. The trucks will be assembled at the Georgia facility from parts manufactured in China.

The company says that they’ve already received orders for 6,400 vehicles, with most of the orders coming from U.S. customers. Company leaders named Nike as a client.

The Windrose trucks will compete directly with the Tesla Semi, carrying a similar $250,000 price tag, according to the report.

The Windrose trucks reportedly have a range of over 400 miles when fully loaded.

Windrose Technology was founded by current Chairman and CEO Wen Han in March 2022.
