Illinois troopers log over 2,000 violations during 3 day commercial vehicle operation on I-70, I-270, and at weigh stations

Illinois State Police (ISP) released results from a recent inspection and enforcement operation targeting unsafe commercial vehicles and truck drivers.

On July 31, 2025, ISP’s Troop 9 shared results from a three day targeted detail that took place in St. Clair, Madison, Bond, Fayette, Effingham, Cumberland, and Clark counties.

“The detail focused on inspecting commercial motor vehicles and enforcing equipment violations, hours-of-service violations, and criminal activity on I-70, I-270, and the Litchfield, Marshall, and Brownstown weigh stations,” state troopers said.

Agencies taking part in the detail include ISP and the Illinois Department of Transportation’s Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program Compliance Officers.
