$37 million in meth seized from commercial truck hauling aluminum burr

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seized more than 4,000 pounds of illegal drugs from a commercial truck at a Texas cargo facility.

The drug seizure took place on August 29, 2025, at the Colombia-Solidarity Bridge cargo facility in Laredo, Texas.

A commercial truck entering the U.S. from Mexico approached the facility hauling a shipment of aluminum burr.

The truck was referred for a secondary inspection that included the use of a canine unit and nonintrusive inspection equipment.

A physical inspection uncovered four sacks of alleged methamphetamine with a combined weight of 4,241 pounds concealed within the shipment.

The estimated street value of the seized methamphetamine is $37,913,462.

CBP seized the drugs, and Homeland Security Investigations special agents launched a criminal investigation into the incident.

“Seizures like this large meth interception illustrate not only the seriousness of the drug threat that our frontline officers face every day, but their resolve and effective use of technology and interception to stop this poison in its tracks,” said Port Director Albert Flores, Laredo Port of Entry.
