Three killed in crash on I-64 involving four semi trucks, two cars, Kentucky troopers say

The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is investigating a multi-vehicle crash in Woodford County that claimed three lives over the weekend.

KSP responded to a multi-vehicle crash on I-64 in Woodford County at 7:30 p.m. on September 12, 2025.

Troopers say that four tractor trailers and two passenger vehicles were involved in a crash in the westbound lanes of I-64, near mile marker 61.

Two of the four truck drivers involved in the crash were pronounced dead at the scene.

One passenger vehicle driver also died at the scene.

The deceased were identified by the Woodford County Coroner’s Office as Casey Whitlock, 50, Matthew Jackson, 43, and John McBroom, 39.

Two other passenger vehicle occupants and one other commercial vehicle driver were injured in the crash and transported for medical treatment.

“Due to the complex nature of the collision, the number of vehicles involved, and the fire at the scene, more information is not available at this time and will be released as the investigation proceeds,” KSP said.

The incident closed lanes of I-64 overnight on Friday, with all lanes reopening shortly after 7 a.m. on Saturday.
