Twelve accused in ‘Singh Organization’ scheme to pose as legitimate trucking companies to steal millions in cargo

A dozen people were named in connection with a federal indictment exposing a wide-ranging cargo theft operation in California, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department (SBCSD) announced.

On October 21, 2025, the SBCSD announced that a cargo theft investigation had resulted in several arrests and federal indictments on charges including Conspiracy to Commit Wire Fraud, Conspiracy to Commit Theft from Interstate or Foreign Shipments, and Criminal Forfeiture.

The cargo theft investigation centered on a group referred to by police as the “Singh Organization.”

Officials said that between March 2021 and June 2025, “members of the Singh Organization acquired or fraudulently used legitimate trucking companies to bid on authentic shipping contracts. Once they took possession of the freight (primarliy electronics, appliances, and other high-value consumer goods), they diverted and stole the shipments instead of delivering them. The stolen cargo was later distributed through intermediaries or black-market channels, with an estimated loss in the millions of dollars.”

SBCSD named the following suspects who “committed multiple thefts within San Bernardino County”:

SBCSD was assisted in the investigation by the FBI- Riverside Inland Violent Crime Suppression Task Force, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the Fontana Police Department, the California Highway Patrol- CTIP, and several other law enforcement agencies.
