Fire investigators believe an electrical shortage may be to blame for the fire and explosion of a Fed Ex truck. The incident happened on Thursday in southern Dickson County in Tennessee, nearly a mile from Love’s.
According to The Tennessean, the driver reported smelling “something electric burning.” As he turned the corner onto Harris Road, the cab caught on fire. Â The driver and passenger were able to escape unharmed.
Witnesses told the paper that they heard explosions and saw smoke. Â A second explosion occurred minutes later.
Smoke from the fire could be seen at the 3/10 of a mile away at Love’s.
Firefighters were able to keep the blaze mostly contained to the cab; however, the trailer sustained minor damage.
At this time, it is unknown what caused the shortage.
