While many truck drivers are struggling with high fuel prices, tolls and maintenance, J.B. Hunt executives are getting raises. Â How much did they get?
CEO John Roberts’s salary will go from $$595,000 to $635,000.
EVP Terry Matthews, president of the Lowell company’s intermodal division, will go from $372,500 to $400,000.
EVP and CFO David Mee’s salary will go from $365,000 to $395,000.
EVP and COO Craig Harper’s salary will go from $370,000 to $375,000.
Chairman Kirk Thompson’s salary will fall from $550,000 to $500,000.
“The base annual salary the company pays its top executives typically is but a small portion of their total compensation package, which can include stock or option awards and bonus pay. For example, Roberts’ total compensation in 2011 was $7.9 million, based on the company’s annual report,” Arkansas Business reported.
According to Glass Door, the average salary for a JB Hunt driver is $53,000 annually. A driver would have to work for 12 years to make the salary the CEO makes in one year, minus bonuses.
