This week, U.S. Xpress driver Jay Jones, of Clanton, Alabama, parked his truck at a Florence, Kentucky, Meijer.
When he returned, his truck was gone, and so was his traveling companion of four years, Maggie the cat.
According to WFSA, also gone was Jones’ computer and some cash, but all he really wanted back was Maggie.
Good news came a 24 hours later. Â Jones’ truck had been found and Maggie was safe inside.
“On Thursday that the truck, minus his trailer, had been found behind the Dearborn VA Clinic in Greendale, Indiana. For unknown reasons, the truck was towed some 60 miles away to a lot in Rushville, IN, and as a result, Maggie was given to the nearby Rushville Animal Shelter,” WFAS reported.
Incidents like this happen more often than one might think. Â You’re also urged to have your pet micro-chipped. Â Also, keep current pictures of your pet on hand, just in case.
