TxDOT Eases Tolls on Austin Bypass to Reduce Congestion

Published:

Austin Toll Road Breaks for TruckersAUSTIN — Texas Department of Transportation is temporarily lowering tolls for truckers on SH-130, in an effort to entice truckers to move off I-35 and reduced traffic congestion.

Beginning Monday big rig toll rates will be the same as what car and pickup drivers pay.

This involves the stretch of SH-130 between Georgetown and Mustang Ridge and to Texas 45 Southeast between SH-130 and I-35.

From Feb. 4 to March 3, truck drivers who choose to travel non-stop between Georgetown and Buda on the SH 130/SH 45SE toll bypass will pay the passenger vehicle (two-axle) toll rate of $11 or less.

For trucks with four axles or more, the discount provides more than a 67 percent discount. The toll discount for trucks is extended as an incentive to reduce truck traffic on I-35 through the Austin area.

After that date, vehicles with four or more axles will once again pay three times the rate for two-axle vehicles.
